Exciting Updates at Your GP Practice!
We are always working to improve our services and make your experience at our practice as smooth as possible. Here are the latest updates:
New telephone system - Directing you more efficiently
Our updated telephone system now helps you get to the right place faster with an automated menu. When you call, you will have the option to be directed to the correct department, whether it’s for prescriptions, non-urgent appointments, or routine bookings. This improvement has led to a huge drop in telephone wait times, and you will be pleased to know that in April the average wait time on the phones was just 10 minutes.
Klinik system – Positive Feedback from users
A gentle reminder to all our patients to avoid long waits on the phone and use our online portal Klinik instead.
ou can request routine appointments, results of tests, administrative letters through Klinik. This can be done from the comfort of your home. Many patients have found it a convenient way to submit their queries and book appointments.
On average, 70% of patients have rated this service good/excellent over the past 6 months.
If you haven’t tried it yet, visit our website to access Klinik for a faster and more efficient way to contact us. (opens at 11am)
Premises Updates – Improved accessibility & facilities
We’ve made several improvements to our practice building:
- A new ramp has been installed to improve accessibility, for our patients with limited mobility.
- A dedicated buggy park is now available for parents with prams and pushchairs.
- Baby Changing facilities for our young patients and parents.
- Bicycle parking has been introduced for those who prefer to cycle to the practice
These enhancements aim to make visits more convenient for all our patients.
Meet the team – Staffing updates
We’re delighted to welcome a new nurse and a new doctor to our team!
We are now able to offer even more appointments, ensuring you have better access to healthcare when you need it.
Please note that we have a multi- disciplinary health care team made up of a diverse group of health professionals. They include doctors, nurses, clinical pharmacists, physiotherapists, mental health specialists, care- coordinators, healthcare assistants (HCAs), and social prescribers.
Meet the team- Staff focus
Let us tell you a little bit about what our staff do. In this edition the focus is on social prescribers.
Who are Social Prescribers and what do they do?
Social Prescribers are professionals who connect individuals to non-medical support. One’s physical and mental health can be affected by everyday challenges such as stress, unemployment, debt, loneliness, housing too mention a few.
Social prescribers support patients by connecting them to groups, activities and services in their communities that meet their social, emotional and practical needs. They are the bridge between us your GP and all the non-healthcare services available in the community.
You can book an appointment with the social prescriber through the GP practice. During the appointment, they will listen to your concerns and help connect you to local support tailored to your needs.
Health Focus
Learning disabilities
A learning disability is a lifelong condition that affects how a person understands information, communicates, and manages daily tasks. It can vary from mild to severe, and individuals may need support with things like understanding health information, attending appointments, or making decisions.
At the GP practice, we are committed to providing accessible, person-centred care for people with learning disabilities. This includes:
- Offering longer or tailored appointments
- Annual health checks with a Nurse/Doctor
- Use of easy-read materials and communication aids
- Support for carers and families
- Signposting to additional local services
Our goal is to ensure that patients with learning disabilities are treated with dignity, listened to, and involved in decisions about their health. If you or someone you care for has a learning disability, please let us know.
This is to inform you that Learning Disability Week 2025 will take place from Monday 16th June to Sunday 22nd June 2025. The theme for this year is “Do You See Me?”
